Job Description: Self-motivated contribution to our geospatial knowledge graph research (e.g. Know Where Graph [knowwheregraph.org]) in the broadest sense including but not limited to: Representation learning (e.g. embeddings), ontologies (e.g. about hazards), schema/ontology alignment, environmental intelligence methods and services, federated learning, graph summarization, spatial and temporal aspects of knowledge engineering such as concept drift, and studying and developing new application areas in collaboration with international partners Participation in activities related to growing the group's excellence, such as outreach, networking, reviewing and editorial work, (co) -organization of events such as conferences, workshops, and tutorials, data engineering, capacity building Research activities in the developing fields of Spatial Data Science and Geo AI International publishing and presentation activities Acquisition of third-party funding Independent teaching (as defined by the collective agreement), mentoring, and supervision of students Maintaining and deepening the group's strong ties to industry, government agencies, and international partners Research (data) management Profile: PhD / Doctorate in Geoinformatics/GIScience or related fields, e.g. Geography, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Information Science, Data Science Professional competence in at least one of the following sub-fields of Geo AI and Spatial Data Science: Knowledge Graphs, Geographic Information Retrieval, (Geo) Semantics, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, Representation Learning (and Machine Learning in general), Social Sensing techniques, Research Data Management (incl.
